VENVS CAELESTIS Venus standing front, head to left, holding apple in her right hand and scepter in her left; in field to right, star. BMC 45. Cohen 8. RIC 241. A lovely piece, with a very sharp obverse. Good extremely fine.

From the collection of a retired senior air force officer, ex Rauch 99, 8 December 2015, 2030 and Gorny & Mosch 101, 6 March 2000, 934.

An interesting minor detail of this coin is that the star on the reverse has been moved from the left to the right field, suggesting that its placement on the die did have a specific meaning.
